When you have something simple to say, say it in black and white so everyone gets the hint.

Art. Wow. What a subject. How many times have you been flamed because someone didn't like your style? How many times have you recieved a comment about how you must have no skill as an artist because some troll thinks you suck?

ART IS A MATTER OF OPINION PEEPLEZ! For reelzerz. You can't just go up to somebody and say their work sucks. We all have our own styles, our own likes, our own dislikes. I remember when I first got into GFX design for forum skins/buttons/markers I was in awe of the stuff people could do. As I started to practice, I found certain things I liked and didn't like. Like the bright neon-highlighted skins. I hate 'em. Black and lime green do not mix. In my opinion. lol, Just because I think that way, doesn't mean the artist does.

Same goes for my GFX that I put together. I can't tell you how many replies I got with people saying my stock sucked, the colors didn't meld, the text wasn't right, or they just didn't like the text altogether. These aren't crits, they are opinions! No one said a damn thing to help me with my art, they just stuffed their opinions down my throat and said I sucked because I didn't like what they liked.

Well, shame on me for not wanting to be like everyone else. lol

People like different things. From fetish portraits, to abstract schemes, 3D renders and pencil sketches. We all have our opinions on how things should be done, but in the long run, most of it should be kept to ourselves. We're not helping anyone by telling them (based on our opinion) that they suck at art, because they don't. They just have the guts to do what they like, and say fuck the rest of the world.
