If you have something simple to say, say it in black and white so even the people with IQs around room temperature get it.

Critiques...this seems to be a subject that hits home for a lot of artists here at dA. Why do people feel it is necessary to leave comments like: "this sux" or "you have no artistik talent whatsoever" or even "fuck u, u suc". (And yes, these are direct quotes with the exact spellings...saddening isn't it? lol) This seems not only pointless, but an utterly wasted effort that offers no help to the artist.

Art is a type of freedom of speech. If you don't like what someone has done, then uh...you're not obligated to like it, or comment. xD, Those kinds of hate-like comments are best kept to one's asshole self. They don't accomplish anything except to make you look like the asshole with nothing better to do than flame artists who are really trying, or even better yet, making a joke. I can't say enough how funny it is to see people get all worked up over something that is meant to be humorous. Much like the Hentai spoofs that are gags to get you to click, only to have some sort of tame image. I mean..."lolz" on us for clicking like the perverts we are, right? xD, I think I found three of those today alone, and had to laugh. But people get offended or feel that they need to say something. Back off man, they made a joke, laugh or keep walking. No one needs to hear you whine.

It falls along those lines of, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. There are enough trolls, haters and flamers, don't add to the already overstocked population. If you're going to crit, crit in a constructive way. Offer pointers or offer links to tutorials and other artists whose work could help the striving artists out. Just saying they suck or they have no skill doesn't help anyone.
